FAQs

Are you presently opened and accepting enrollments

Precious Lambs will remain operational and is presently enrolling children so that essential workers can continue to service the public. As a Day Care Program, we currently have support from OCFS to provide care and we are deemed as “essential”. As such we are, and will continue to provide services for children and families.

As an operation, we have incorporated stringent policies and practices to ensure the safety of the children in our care as well as the staff that is working on the front lines to care for your children. Both staff, children and families are practicing these policies for the well-being and safety of all, as we work together to flatten the curve.

Travel

We are following CDC guidelines and their travel advisory. We are asking all staff and family members to refrain from travel at this time. If travel is elected at this time, we have instituted a policy that states anyone who has traveled outside of the State, must refrain from entering school for 14 days upon return.

Learning From Home

Many children are missing out on socializing during these unprecedented times. We are providing a quality at home educational service virtually that will allow our teachers to readily engage with your child. There is no need to stop your child’s learning experience. Our teachers can zoom LIVE with your child weekly now and even post covid, so that your child can have an opportunity to socialize with other children, teachers, make new friends and keep the learning experience alive.

What happens if someone at school is diagnosed with COVID-19

If a child or teacher at our school is diagnosed with Covid-19, we would immediately contact the Department of Health and get direction from them. Then, we would contact NYS Office of Children and Family Services and inform them of the direction and steps given to us by the Department of Health and follow their guidance as well.

What if my child doesn’t have symptoms, but a family member has been diagnosed with coronavirus?

We would ask that your child stay home and refrain from attending school for a 14 day period. We would then immediately contact the Department of Health and seek direction from them. Additionally, we would contact the Office of Children and Family Services and inform them of same, as well as ask for their guidance.

School Districts are closed. Are you accepting children from elementary schools, or their siblings?

Due to these unprecedented times, our enrollment policy is being modified according to adhear to the guidelines from the state and local offices. We are accepting children of all ages, but are being more selective.

What if I decide to Stop sending my child, What are the tuition guidelines?

At this time, if parents are choosing to keep their children home, we understand and agree with that choice. In order to keep up with our operating expenses and to make sure we can continue to offer a quality experience for children and families, we must continue to charge tuition based on enrollment. Parents could also choose to withdraw their child from our program and attempt to re-register them when they are ready in order to avoid weekly charges, however this may put their child’s slot at risk. If a parent is out of work, or would struggle to make these payments, due to COVID-19 reasons, but want to keep their child’s slot secured, you are encouraged to see the Director so that payment arrangements can be made.

How do I continue to get updates on my child and policy changes?

All families are contacted daily throughout the day and given updates and photos pertaining to their child’s status, via our parent communication tool. Emails are also sent out frequently as well as posts to our facebook page. We will continue to keep you informed as updates occur.

We thank you in advance for your assistance as we implement all of these precautions together as a team. Let’s continue to work together and stay committed to flattening the curve and keeping our children and families safe against the spread of COVID-19. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our community healthy!

Be safe and be well.
